Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, who was recently seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, has opened up about the changes she experienced when she transitioned from being a ‘Bhatt’ to a ‘Kapoor’ following her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor. She also discussed how they ensure quality time with Raha and how they coordinate their schedules to ensure that one of them is always there for her.

Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Alia said, “My life truly changed after my daughter was born. That’s when the change really came. The way our families immediately got along, there was a lot of warmth, there was a lot of love and that did not change overnight just because we got married. That love was there just before the wedding and the same love and warmth was there a day after.”

Alia and Ranbir welcomed their daughter Raha in November last year. When asked about managing work and parenting, Alia said that she would answer this question from a point of view of ‘How is it going as two working parents?’ She said, “There is truth to privilege and I have to acknowledge that. I do have the comfort of professional help if I am unavailable. The truth is you have to have your priority right. Our priority will always be Raha. Our work is a huge part of what we are and I don’t want to lose that part of me. It makes me happy. Someday when she is old, she will respect that part of her parents.”

Alia recently turned a producer and announced her next film titled Jigra. The actor, who is currently shooting for the upcoming film said, “But we try even though we have professional help. We work our schedules around each other and one of us is with her all the time. When I took up Jigra, Ranbir cleared his schedule for the next couple of months.”

The actor said that there are a lot of night schedules in Jigra and she ends up sleeping only five hours so that she can spend more time with her daughter. She concluded, “Her grandparents are waiting for a chance. They are like ‘please you guys go on a holiday, leave her with us, we want all the time with her.’ That way I am very blessed.”
